Lincoln Park, a suburban neighborhood on Capitol Hill, offers a quiet refuge from D.C.’s hustle and bustle. With beautiful greenery, walkable history, and plentiful bevvy stops along the way, Lincoln Park is the perfect neighborhood to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon romanticizing life in D.C.
First, Coffee
French-inspired café Wine and Butter is situated right on the edge of Lincoln Park and is the perfect place to grab a cappuccino and pretend you’re in Paris. You can raid their gourmet deli and fancy wine collection to curate your Lincoln Park picnic.
If you’re feeling more frugal, walk over to The Hill Cafe for a classic bacon, egg, and cheese off the flat top and a more modest cup of joe. Come fall, you’ll be able to visit the century-old, community-owned, Mott’s Market for coffee, food, and community events.

Get Some Grub
For a small neighborhood, Lincoln Park offers a decent assortment of cuisines. If Italian is your poison, Pacci’s Trattoria and della barba pizza are within two blocks of the park. Hong Kong Carryout is considered one of the best Chinese-American takeaway spots in the city. Manna Dosirak sits slightly further north, serving up quick and delicious Korean BBQ bento boxes and bibimbap to-go.
Take a Walk
Lincoln Park is a great place to walk. You can plop down on a bench and people watch, socialize with your pup, or just lie in the grass. In the spring, the park has cherry blossom trees, and the surrounding neighborhood is home to a vast array of beautiful greenery, including multiple Eastern Redbuds. According to ‘Hidden Alleyways of Washington DC: A History,’ Lincoln Park is one of the best places to explore the city’s historic alleyways.
