These places have good coffee, great wifi, low(ish) noise levels, and don’t give you the stink eye for nursing one cappuccino for five hours. Pro tip: do NOT forget your noise-canceling headphones.
Bistro Du Jour (The Wharf) – The pastries and coffee here are truly divine. The tables are plenty big for spreading out. Plus, you can sit on the patio overlooking the water and pretend like you are in Paris.
Bayou Bakery (Arlington) – Oooh the beignets .... worth getting powdered sugar all over your laptop for. And the wifi here is top notch.
Emissary (Dupont, P St. Location) – There’s no place better for rolling right into happy hour, but be prepared to use your hotspot. The wifi gets shoddy when it’s crowded.
Doubles (Petworth) – Amazing refillable drip coffee + quiet vibes = the best work spot in town. They also have a huge covered patio (with pizza). Sometimes, it’s hard to grab an indoor spot on weekdays so go early.
The Line Hotel (Adams Morgan) – The lobby of The Line is a secret gem. The big tables, subdued atmosphere, and comfy chairs are perfect for working all day. Grab a coffee at its coffee shop No Goodbyes.
The Wydown (H St. Location) – The cafe you know and love, but this time in the lobby of the Apollo Hotel, which has three floors of comfy window chairs for quiet solace.
